The city of Aachen recently hosted the latest ISTMA Europe meeting, bringing together prominent representatives from the industry. Held at the WBA headquarters, this event was promoted by VDMA and chaired by Markus Heseding, the current president of the European Confederation.
Representatives from associations in Germany, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Poland, Portugal and United Kingdom, attended, along with ISTMA Global Partners – GF, Moldino, Makino and Messe Stuttgart – as well as the President of ISTMA World, Bob Williamson.
Key topics discussed included the current situation of the sector in Europe, market challenges faced by companies, and new actions aimed at strengthening and promoting the sector's skills with the European Union, national governments and its public institutes. These discussions reflect ISTMA Europe's commitment to ensuring that the sector's relevance and its needs are effectively communicated and valued across Europe.
An introduction to CBM – Confederation of British Metalforming, ISTMA's newest member, and its main activities was made by its President, Stephen Morley, who enriched the discussions with insights from the British perspective.
The program also included a visit to the WBA Technological Center, where participants were able to gain first-hand insights into the latest innovations and best practices this institution is bringing to the sector. To conclude, delegates have the chance to attend the EIP – Excellence in Production awards ceremony that recognizes the top German companies in the sector, underscoring ISTMA's commitment to excellence and innovation.
