The International Special Tooling & Machining Association (ISTMA) is an international association representing 30 special tooling and machining associations throughout the world. Collectively, ISTMA member associations represent over 8,000 companies and over $40 billion U.S. dollars in annual sales. ISTMA World is in charge of the central coordination and organization of all international activities. United under this roof are the following regional sections:

- ISTMA Americas
- ISTMA Asia / FADMA
- ISTMA Europe

Vision
The International Special Tooling & Machining Association (ISTMA) will be the center of knowledge of the worldwide special tooling and precision machining industry.
Mission

To help national industry associations and their member companies achieve business success in the global economy through advocacy, networking, information, programs and services.

Objectives
- Act as the spokesman of the industry before the European Union organisms and other speakers in the aspects related to the sector.
- Improve European industry competitiveness through research and innovation.
- Promote information exchange and collaboration between members, always within the framework of good faith through, for example, the organisation of meetings and conferences between industry agents.
- Encourage agreements between members companies and enlarge ISTMA-Europe members.
- Organise conferences at European level.
- Promote and give support to sector acts, such as fairs, congresses, technical sessions, etc.
- Carry out studies of the international markets situation, in particular the European.
- Obtain the most updated statistics on the mould and die industry.

Membership
The Association may admit as a member an organization of a country and/or
its areas representing the interests of manufacturers of the following products:

- dies for pressing, stamping, punching and forming
- injection and compression moulds
- die casting dies
- patterns and pattern equipment
- jigs and fixtures
- standard tooling components
- precision machining as well as
- related products produced by toolmakers
