MOULDING EXPO 27: CONDENSED, EFFICIENT AND POISED FOR SUCCESS

New all-inclusive concept and brand refresh Two trade fair days on 11 and 12 May 2027

Moulding Expo is setting the course for the coming years. The tool construction and mould-making industry currently finds itself in a period of challenge and upheaval. In response to this situation and following extensive discussions with exhibitors, Messe Stuttgart has fundamentally overhauled the concept of Moulding Expo, the international trade fair for tool, pattern and mould making.

Moulding Expo 2027: More compact and efficient

Exhibitors to Moulding Expo 2027 are set to benefit from the new all-inclusive packages. In addition to the considerably shorter schedule, which has been reduced from four to two days, these packages offer fixed stand sizes, a uniform stand construction concept, as well as additional services such as parking, catering, lead management and trade fair media.

"We are looking to the future with this new approach," emphasises Florian Niethammer, Project Manager of Moulding Expo. "With this new direction, our goal is to equip Moulding Expo for the changing market conditions. Participation in the event is simpler, more compact, more efficient and therefore more successful. Anyone and everyone involved in and passionate about European tool manufacture stands to benefit from this new and more streamlined trade fair concept."

Conversations with key industry players have shown that the redesign has been broadly welcomed. "The changes were necessary and will provide greater opportunities for those involved. We feel vindicated in our decision to take this step, which was driven by our determination to maintain the key visibility of the tool manufacturing industry and continue to provide a platform for exchange and solutions," Niethammer continued.

Companies confirming relevance of trade fair

Renowned exhibitors are voicing their approval for the new trade fair concept. "Fantastic to hear that Stuttgart's Moulding Expo 2027 will remain a key destination for top-class tool construction. The close proximity to the region's hidden champions is beyond valuable. Thanks to its compact programme and all-inclusive packages, we have the chance to focus on what's important: namely our customers and the challenges they're facing," commented Eva Söhnlein, Managing Director of Hans Geiger Formenbau GmbH.

Stuttgart as a location, right at the heart of Baden-Württemberg, is another clear advantage. Markus Jenny, Head of Product Marketing & Event Management at Meusburger Georg GmbH & Co KG, explains: "Moulding Expo 2027 is currently key to maintaining the visibility and competitiveness of European tool construction and mould making. The location is ideal for us as many of our customers are based in southern Germany. The compact all-inclusive concept has reduced costs and effort while improving efficiency – an undeniable benefit for both visitors and exhibitors."

Further positive signals from the industry and associations

Others from the industry have also confirmed the importance and good timing of this new approach. As Christian Thiele, press officer at Paul Horn GmbH, explains: "Anyone looking to experience tool, pattern and mould making simply cannot look beyond Moulding Expo at Messe Stuttgart. This is a key industry. The new trade fair concept focuses on the main objectives of a visit: finding solutions and acquiring a broader understanding of the current situation."

The concept has even been approved at European level. As Stephan Berz, President of ISTMA Europe, explains: "Europe needs a European toolmaking trade fair and Moulding Expo is providing the perfect framework with this new concept. We need to raise the visibility of the European toolmaking industry in order to ensure a greater focus on local tool procurement. Efficient, affordable trade fair concepts are needed in difficult times – and Messe Stuttgart has succeeded in achieving this. My plea to companies: get involved and demonstrate the talent for tool manufacture we have here in Europe and how we understand our customers."

New image and scheduling alongside Control

Moulding Expo has returned in 2027 with a new design. "A new colour scheme immediately signals that big changes have taken place," says Florian Niethammer. The new claim to represent "Mould making at its best" emphasises the clear focus and high expectations for this trade fair. It also creates the necessary space in which to highlight the concentration of expertise and know-how of the industry.

Moulding Expo will be taking place on 11 and 12 May 2027, once again alongside Control, the international trade fair for quality assurance. Thus, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the innovation and networks of both key industries from one location.
